Configuration
The configurations happens horizontally: row per row, button per button.
The fading effects are all done by the applet automatically.
All class files are jarred into the jar file. So you only need to copy HorizonMenu.jar to your webdirectory and put the APPLET tags (with parameters) in a html file in that directory.
You can configure the applet by changing the PARAM tags in the source html.
If you like the main example, open applet.html in NotePad.
If you like one of the other examples, open their source files (examples1.html, ...) in NotePad
Copy the entire part between the APPLET tags into your own webpage and adjust them to your likings.
All colors are in html format (hexadecimal, for example FF0000):
General parameters:
You can change the size of the applet with the WIDTH and HEIGHT tags.
- RegistrationKey is to remove the RA-link, when you register the applet.
- InfoTextNoButtonSelected is the text shown when the mouse pointer is not over any buttons.
- InfoTextTypeSpeed defines the speed the info appears (in frames per second).
- InfoTextAlignment defines how to align the info text. It can be left (recommended), center and right.
- NumberOfRows is the number of rows (including empty lines).
Default parameters who can be overridden per row or button:
Each of this parameters, must have "Default", "Row#" or "Row#Button*" in front of it in order to be recognized.
For example you can change the default background color with DefaultBackgroundColor.
All of these parameters must be included as Default. You can choose to include them per row or button in order to override a default parameters.
Take a look at the source of the examples to understand it better.
- FontStyle defines the style of font (most standard fonts are supported).
- TargetFrame defines the frame to open a link in.
- ButtonStyle is the style of a button, it can be solid, rectangle, rounded and 3D.
- BackgroundColor defines the background color of a button or open space.
- InfoTextColor defines the color a info text is put in.
- ButtonColorOut defines the color of a button when the mouse pointer is not over them.
- ButtonTagColorOut defines the color of the tag put on a button when the mouse pointer is not over them.
- ButtonColorOver defines the color of a button when the mouse pointer is over them.
- ButtonTagColorOver defines the color of the tag put on a button when the mouse pointer is over them.
For each row there must be the following set of row parameters (# is the row number):
- Row#Height is the height of the row.
- Row#NumberOfButtons defines the number of buttons (including spaces between buttons). Put this to 0 to have an empty line.
- Each of the Default parameters can be overridden.
- For example you can adjust Row#BackgroundColor to adjust the background color of the row and all the buttons in it.
For each Button in each row there must be the following set of button parameters (# is the row number, * is the button number):
- Row#Button*URL defines the URL it leads to. Put this to "empty" to create a space between buttons. Put only one to "InfoText" to create the info text.
- Row#Button*Width defines the width of a button or space between buttons.
When Row#Button*URL isn't "Empty" or "InfoText":
- Row#Button*Tag defines the text to shown on top of the button.
- Row#Button*InfoText defines the info to appear when the mouse pointer is over the button.
- Each of the Default parameters can be overridden.
- For example you can adjust Row#Button*BackgroundColor to adjust the background color of a buttons (or emtpy space or info text).
With an unregistered applet the RA-link will show up in the top left corner, between 10 and 25 pixels high (depending your row height) and 30 pixels width.
Any buttons that might be in the way will be made smaller.
