Shimmer
Shimmer applet parameters There are 3 parameters for
the Shimmer applet. Only image is
required.
image color speed
An Explaination of the Parametersimage - The
GIF image to be used. The color set as transparent will be
shimmered. Animated GIFs don't work most of the time--don't use
them.
color - Sets the shimmer color, in hex. Best results
are achieved with colors not too ligh and not too dark. Colors on
the darker side (such as 004400) work best.
speed - Sets the "brake" time, in ms. Default is 22. A
higher integer results in a slower shimmer time.
Useage Just create a GIF image with transparency.
Copy the image to the same directory as Shimmer.class
and set it as the value in the image parameter. The
image will stretch to fit the applet window, so be sure to set the
appropriate width and height.
Issues
- Large (tall) images may appear to have a slow shimmer time on
slower machines.
- Slow downs may occur if many instances of
Shimmer
on one page. This usually does not occur on faster machines.
